Credit Advisors Foundation Joins THE NATIONAL FOUNDATION FOR CREDIT COUNSELING® the Longest Serving Network of Nonprofit Financial Counseling Centers in the Nation.
Omaha, Nebraska – The National Foundation for Credit Counseling® (NFCC®) is pleased to welcome Credit Advisors Foundation as the newest agency in a member network of nearly 600 community-based locations across America.
“Credit Advisors Foundation is a welcome addition to our nationwide network of nonprofit member organizations,” said Susan C. Keating, president and CEO of the NFCC. “Through their work they have established themselves as strong advocates for financial education while operating to many of the same high standards commonly associated with members of the NFCC. As financial challenges associated with consumer debt and personal savings continue, our work together will help struggling Americans achieve financial stability and reach their goals.”
Credit Advisors Foundation has been helping people get out of debt with dignity since 1991. As a leader in the field of financial education, they have helped thousands of people get control of their money problems and go on with their lives. In addition to providing credit and budget counseling, they also offer a series of online financial education resources as well as personal finance workshops. All programs and services are in support of a mission to provide programs and solutions that empower consumers to effectively manage their finances, create economic security, and realize equality of access and opportunity.
“We have long admired and emulated the standards for consumer programs put forth by the NFCC and are thrilled to now call ourselves members.” Said Executive Director Sam Hohman. “We look forward to becoming known as the Consumer Credit Counseling Agency of the Heartland, the only locally operated NFCC agency in Nebraska.”
As a member of the NFCC, Credit Advisors Foundation will continue accreditation through the Council on Accreditation, Inc. (COA) which has been an integral practice for the agency for 14 years. COA is an independent third-party not-for-profit accrediting organization that has reviewed more than 1,500 social service programs to ensure compliance with rigorous best-practice standards. All NFCC member agencies must be re-accredited by COA every four years. The NFCC is also recognized within the sector, and by creditors for its trademarked Counselor Certification Program. All NFCC certified counselors must be employed by an agency of the NFCC member network, and must complete the NFCC’s comprehensive training program to guarantee their ability to provide quality education and assistance to consumers.
